Real Madrid secured an important 2–0 victory over Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday night in a match filled with intensity, physical battles, and standout performances from Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé.

Before kickoff, attention was already on Real Madrid’s lineup, with Brahim Díaz unavailable due to the international break. Vinicius Jr. captained the side as Madrid entered the match following an important victory the previous weekend. Sevilla, meanwhile, arrived at the Bernabéu hoping to secure their first win at the stadium since 2008.

Real Madrid lined up in a 4-4-2 formation, while Sevilla chose a defensive 5-3-2 setup. The match began with Real Madrid controlling possession after kickoff, although Sevilla looked dangerous on the counterattack during the opening minutes.

Sevilla’s first dangerous attempt came through Romero early in the first half, while Fran García responded with Madrid’s first promising attack shortly afterward. Kylian Mbappé, currently one of the team’s top scorers, had his first major chance in the 18th minute, but his effort went high and wide.

Despite controlling large periods of possession, Real Madrid struggled at times to dominate the rhythm of the game. Jude Bellingham was heavily involved in midfield battles and had several tense moments with Sevilla players throughout the first half.

The match began to grow more physical as Sevilla defender Carmona received a yellow card in the 34th minute. Only a minute later, Sevilla coach Almeyda was also booked following complaints from the sideline. Marcão then received another yellow card for Sevilla in the 37th minute after conceding a dangerous foul near the area.

Real Madrid immediately took advantage of the set piece opportunity. In the 38th minute, Jude Bellingham rose highest inside the box to score a powerful header following an excellent assist from Rodrygo. The Bernabéu erupted as Madrid finally found the breakthrough after a competitive first half.

Rodrygo later received a yellow card for simulation in the 41st minute. Among the crowd in attendance were Jobe Bellingham, Jude Bellingham’s mother, and his girlfriend, all watching from the stands as Madrid entered halftime with a 1–0 lead.

The second half began with both teams playing at a much higher intensity. Real Madrid continued attacking aggressively, creating several dangerous chances against Sevilla’s goalkeeper, while the visitors pushed forward in search of an equalizer.

Raúl Asencio received a yellow card in the 59th minute during a tense period of the match. Sevilla continued making substitutions in an attempt to change the game, but their problems increased when Marcão received a second yellow card and was sent off in the 68th minute. The defender showed visible frustration while leaving the field, kicking the ball down the tunnel after his dismissal.

A few minutes later, Agoumé also received a yellow card as Sevilla struggled to deal with Madrid’s attacking pressure. Carlo Ancelotti responded with changes of his own, introducing Camavinga for Arda Güler in the 72nd minute.

Real Madrid continued to dominate possession and came extremely close to scoring again in the 79th minute through Rodrygo. The Brazilian produced a moment of brilliance, flicking the ball into the air before volleying toward the top corner, but goalkeeper Vlachodimos somehow managed to push the ball onto the crossbar.

Sevilla attempted to react through set pieces and counterattacks, but Madrid’s defense remained organized throughout the closing stages. Vinicius Jr. was substituted in the 82nd minute for Gonzalo García after another hardworking performance.

The decisive moment arrived in the 85th minute when Rodrygo was brought down inside the penalty area by Juanlu Sánchez. Mbappé stepped up one minute later and calmly converted the penalty to double Madrid’s lead.

Four minutes of added time were awarded, and Sevilla’s frustrations continued with Sow receiving another yellow card deep into stoppage time. Mbappé had one final opportunity from a free kick in the 92nd minute, but his effort missed the target.

The match ended with a confident 2–0 victory for Real Madrid at the Bernabéu. Jude Bellingham once again proved crucial in midfield with his opening goal, while Mbappé sealed the result late in the second half. Sevilla showed moments of aggression and resilience, but the red card and Madrid’s attacking quality ultimately made the difference
